I help people untangle complex information—whether it’s family history, music rights, or messy data.

If the information exists somewhere, I will find it.

For 17 years I was a music clearance specialist at CBS Studios/ Paramount, responsible for researching ownership, clearing rights, and negotiating terms with labels and publishers across more than 30 television series. That work trained me to do one thing extremely well: follow a thread through incomplete, contradictory, or missing information until it resolves.

Today I offer three independent services built on that same investigative foundation: music rights clearance and consultation, genealogical and biological family research, and data organization and cleanup for clients whose information has outgrown its current structure.

I work remotely from Asheville, NC, on a project or retainer basis.

What I Do

Music Rights

Clearance and rights consultation for television, film, live performance, corporate events, and any other medium where music needs to be licensed. I handle both master and publishing, negotiate directly with labels and publishers, and advise on rights exposure when you're not sure what you need.

Family Research

Investigative genealogical research for adoptees, people with unknown parentage, and anyone searching for biological relatives. I combine DNA match analysis with documentary records — census, vital records, newspaper archives, social media — and take cases that others have already given up on.

Data Organization

Bringing structure and consistency to databases, records, and information sets that have become unwieldy — and presenting findings clearly. Example work includes a 5,000+ record cleanup project for a financial services client.

“Communication was top-notch and the final outcome was even better than we imagined. A great experience all around.”
